Description

Teak Protect is a highly penetrating wood finish that provides a flexible, long-lasting, matte finish for all types of wood. Teak Protect saturates and stabilises the wood to minimise cracking, warping, and other damage caused by moisture, pollution, and UV rays. Teak Protect is a strong, non-film-forming finish that can be applied to both new and weathered wood.
Its matte finish allows the natural beauty of the wood to shine through while offering premium UV protection. The required maintenance is minimal, with likely maintenance coats only required once every couple of years or longer, making it a sound investment for the future.

Benefits

  • Enhancing its natural beauty and providing long-lasting protection
  • Helping to prevent water damage, swelling, and moisture absorption in teak wood
  • Reducing the need for frequent maintenance

Features

  • Hardwoods: Exotic and broadleaved: Teak, Ipe, Bangkirai, Oak, Iroko/Azobe (see restrictions)
  • Softwoods: Pine, Larch, Spruce, Cedar, etc
  • Horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Decks, furniture, pontoons, walkways, handrails, and more

How to use

Step 1: Ensure that the teak wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and other contaminants. If needed, clean the surface using an appropriate wood cleaner.

Step 2: Apply Owatrol Teak Protect Water-Based Saturator using a brush, roller, or spray. Ensure even coverage, and follow the manufacturer’s recommended application method.

Step 3: Allow the treated teak surface to dry according to the product’s recommended drying time. Drying times can vary based on environmental conditions.

Step 4: Depending on the desired level of saturation and protection, additional coats may be applied. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for reapplication.

Step 5: Clean tools and equipment with water or an appropriate solvent as recommended by the manufacturer.
