Description

The 45A DP switch with 13A BS and neon is an electrical component that is designed for use in the UK. The component consists of a 45-amp double-pole switch and a 13-amp British Standard (BS) socket, both of which are mounted on a single faceplate. The switch is rated for up to 45 amps of current and has two poles, which means it can switch off both the live and neutral connections to the socket simultaneously.
This provides an added level of safety when working with high-power electrical devices or appliances. The 13-amp BS socket is designed to handle up to 13 amps of current and has a voltage rating of 230 volts. It is a standard UK socket and is compatible with most UK electrical devices and appliances. The socket also features a neon light that indicates when the socket is active or not, providing a convenient way to see if power is being supplied to connected devices.
The 45A DP switch with 13A BS and neon is typically used in kitchens or other areas where high-power appliances are used, such as electric cookers or ovens. It is also commonly used in commercial settings, such as restaurants or cafes, where there is a need for high-power electrical devices.

Features

  • Control the power supply for two separate circuits
  • Rated for a maximum load of 13 amps
  • Made from high-quality materials with a robust construction

How to use

Step 1: Turn off the power supply to the circuit you will be working on. This can be done by switching off the main power supply or the circuit breaker that controls the circuit.

Step 2: Mount the 45A DP switch on the wall or surface where you want it to be installed. Make sure it is securely fixed and that the wires from the circuit are accessible.

Step 3: Connect the wires from the circuit to the terminals of the 45A DP switch. You will need to ensure that the wires are connected to the correct terminals. Typically, there will be a live (brown) wire, a neutral (blue) wire, and an earth (green or yellow) wire.

Step 4: Mount the 13-amp BS socket onto the wall or surface where you want it to be installed. Make sure it is securely fixed and that the wires from the circuit are accessible.

Step 5: Connect the wires from the circuit to the terminals of the 13 A BS socket. Again, you will need to ensure that the wires are connected to the correct terminals. Typically, there will be a live (brown) wire, a neutral (blue) wire, and an earth (green or yellow) wire.

Step 6: Connect the neon indicator to the appropriate terminals on the 13 A BS socket. The terminals will be labelled, and you should connect the neon to the live and neutral terminals.

Step 7: Once all connections have been made, turn on the power supply to the circuit and test the switch and socket to ensure they are functioning correctly. The neon indicator should light up when the socket is turned on.
