Description

The 2G 240V/120V Shaver Socket is an electrical component designed for use in bathrooms to power electric shavers or toothbrushes. It features two sockets, each of which is designed to provide a safe and convenient way to power these devices. The shaver socket typically operates on a voltage of 240V or 120V, depending on the country and electrical system in which it is used. It is designed to be compatible with the BS 4573 standard, which specifies the requirements for shaver supply units for use in bathrooms and similar locations.
The socket may include a transformer that reduces the voltage from the mains supply to a safe level for the shaver or toothbrush. It may also include a switch, which allows the socket to be turned on or off as needed, and an indicator light, which provides a visual indication when the socket is in use.

Features

  • Socket can operate on either a 240V or 120V AC electrical supply
  • Protected against dust and water ingress
  • Made of high-quality materials and is designed to be durable and long-lasting

How to use

Step 1: Before starting any electrical work, turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Step 2: If the socket has not already been installed, have a qualified electrician install it for you. The socket is designed for easy installation and can be mounted on the wall using screws.

Step 3: Connect the shaver unit to the socket by inserting the plug into one of the two gangs. Make sure the plug is fully inserted and secured.

Step 4: Turn on the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box. The neon indicator on the socket should light up, indicating that the socket is powered and ready to use.

Step 5: Once the socket is powered on, the shaver unit can be turned on and used as normal.

Step 6: After use, turn off the shaver unit and unplug it from the socket. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Step 7: To keep the socket clean and in good working order, wipe it down with a damp cloth when needed.
